Chatham Bounce Deck Shoe - Tan - 2017

REVIEW – Chatham Bounce Deck Shoe

The Bounce deck shoe is part of Chatham’s new Sole Spring range which uses tri-density 3mm memory foam for maximum comfort.  Which sounds great but how do they feel?

The first thing to notice is the weight.  They’re light, very light.  They’re also very comfortable.

The lack of weight makes for less rubbing and movement as you walk, especially without socks, which brings me to the age old question of deck shoe hosiery.

Ordinarily, I would opt for bare feet in deck shoes, but these have a more relaxed, urban feel that suit both the traditional approach as well as the besocked.

A nice touch is the padded leather under the tip of the tongue which stops your bare foot from snagging when pushing it into the shoe.  Another is the striped lining that brightens up the shoe and brings a summer feel.

I have narrow feet and found the Bounce slightly wide, as with many of the Chatham range, but this didn’t distract from the comfort.

The Bounce comes in tan or blue and is a great alternative to regular deck shoes or trainers.
