The UK’s largest marine safety equipment supplier, Ocean Safety, a 3Si group company, is once again named an Official Supplier to the Clipper 2017-18 Round the World Yacht Race as the company signs a third contract. Ocean Safety will supply another comprehensive range of safety equipment on each of the twelve 70ft (23m) yachts competing in the 40,000 nautical mile adventure.

Team AkzoNobel, the new Dutch ocean racing team backed by leading global paints and coatings company, AkzoNobel and skippered by Netherlands yachtsman, Simeon Tienpont, will race a new-build Volvo Ocean 65 yacht in the 2017-18 edition of the Volvo Ocean Race.

After a champagne start to the race there was a huge change in weather conditions by the end of the first day. The low pressure system emanating from the north arrived earlier than anticipated, extinguishing the trade winds to provide a windless night for many competitors. The ninth edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 started in magnificent conditions with the largest ever offshore fleet assembled in the Caribbean enjoying sparkling conditions. The RORC Caribbean 600 attracts the world's fastest racing yachts, magnificent superyachts and corinthian production cruisers. Gathered in Antigua for the start of the 600-mile blast around 11 Caribbean islands, the fleet is a phenomenal sight. Among the spectacular entries this year are two colossal schooners; Eleonora and Adela, with at least 12 classic-designed yachts joining them on the race course.

PHRF provisional results in 2017 Pineapple Cup - Montego Bay Race

Tom Slade's Santa Cruz 52, Renegade, was first across the finish line in the PHRF division in the 33rd Pineapple Cup – Montego Bay Race. 29 minutes 47 seconds later the Class40, Amhas, skippered by Micah Davis crossed the line. And in a flurry of finishes, Dragon, White Rhino and Hermie Louise all crossed within 10 minutes and 16 seconds of each other.
