Sailing charity opens new watersports facility in Portsmouth

The licence for the Portsmouth City Council (PCC) owned facility, Portsmouth Watersports Centre has been transferred to the Andrew Simpson Foundation and renamed as the Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre - Portsmouth (ASWC - Portsmouth).

The Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre - Portsmouth will deliver a full programme of RYA sailing, windsurfing and powerboating courses, a range of paddle sports, outdoor activities and an extensive instructor training programme.

RS800 Coaching at Itchenor SC

12 RS800s gathered at the lovely Itchenor SC over the weekend for an action packed two days of coaching with skiff gurus Harvey Hilary and Stevie Wilson.  They were greeted with wall to wall sunshine and all-too-tempting cake.

RYA launches vital new First Aid manual for mariners

The RYA has launched a new First Aid manual specifically designed for mariners.

Written and overseen by medical professionals, it contains all the credible information and advice you would expect from a First Aid book, with content now tailored to boaters.

The core team at RS Sailing are life-long sailors who love being on the water. We’d like to think we’ve developed some great boats for people like us and for the next generation of sailors, so we want to do our part to focus on protecting the environment we all enjoy sailing in.

RS Aero Winter Training 1 – Oxford SC, 19/20th November

The first of six monthly RS Aero Winter Training weekends kicked off at Oxford over the weekend. Twelve RS Aeros took to the water with a total of fifteen sailors taking part thanks to the opportunity from the RS provided charter/demo Aeros.

Modal Training, the Humber region's new £7m training centre of excellence for the ports, energy and logistics sectors, is now taking bookings for a number of courses that have been launched ahead of the facility opening in early 2017.
